A HORRIFIED landlord was left with a whopping £30,000 bill after “feral” tenants wrecked his property and left it full of rubbish and rotten food.
Travis Adams, 34, said the home was crawling with cockroaches and rats after he evicted the family of six.
The landlord, of Perth, Australia, had been leasing his home to them for three years, but things took a sudden hit when he finally asked them to leave, news.com.au reports.
He told Nine News: “Just furniture, rotten food, rats, cockroaches, dirty walls, dirty ceilings, broken windows … just a complete mess … dirty nappies were all over the place.
“There’s wiring damage, plumbing damage, the kitchen needs to be replaced.”
Travis posted a two-minute video of the damage, which words barely begin to describe.
The footage shows rubbish, toys and clothes strewn all over the floor, furniture ripped apart, broken shelves, bare mattresses propped up against the wall, a mountain of unwashed dishes and grime on every surface.
Travis said he now has to move back to the place to get it back up to scratch —and he’s not covered by landlord insurance.
He added: “It’s heartbreaking, just the lack of respect people have for people’s property and for themselves to live in such a state, and the fact they’ll do that again to somebody else.”
Travis’s sister-in-law, Charmaine Kettle, has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs.
