FROM the moment Dani Dyer arrived in Love Island fans have been desperate to know whether her actor and East End hardman dad Danny will also be making an appearance on the show.
Here’s what we know about Danny’s plans and what that might mean for Jack Fincham…
Will Danny Dyer appear on Love Island?
While it is not confirmed if Danny will be making his way out to Majorca at some point during the show, the odds are definitely shortening.
Fans have been speculating furiously since the first episode about whether the Football Factory and EastEnders actor would make a surprise appearance at the Love Island villa.
Dani and her pen salesman boyfriend Jack are the heavy favourites to win the show and the £50,000 prize which goes with it.
A special “meet-the-parents” Love Island episode is slated for late July – although it is currently unclear whether Danny’s TV commitments will allow him to attend.
A TV source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Danny had booked time off work long before his daughter Dani had any inkling she would be going on Love Island.
“All his time off the soap had to be pre-booked with EastEnders to stop all the cast being off work at the same time.
“He has things already lined up during his time off, but there is a chance he could do a U-turn and change his mind to support Dani. The show has really grown on him.
“But as things stand, he has prior commitments and won’t be joining his daughter in Majorca.”
However, Danny got fans dreaming of a Dyer reunion at the idyllic villa when he posted on Twitter on July 5 that he was bound for Spain.
The 40-year-old tweeted: “I’ve only gone and made the shortlist for the TV choice awards. If you fancy it whack a vote my way.
“Right, I’m off to the villa to sign my future son in laws canvas. Lovely.”
Danny’s joke was in reference to the embarrassing revelation that Jack has a poster of the actor on his bedroom wall.
What has Danny said about Jack Fincham and Dani’s relationship?
Joanne Mas, Danny’s wife and Dani’s mum, appeared on This Morning to discuss all things Love Island on July 5.
Asked if her husband would appear said: “Yeah, he’d want a cameo on that show. Yeah, he would love that.”
Joanne also told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield EastEnders’ Mick Carter would soften when he sees his daughter and Jack together.
She said: “Danny really likes Jack. I think Danny when he does meet Jack he’ll probably cry. He’s really possessive.”
