LINE Of Duty have confirmed that Stephen Graham has joined the cast of series five as they share the first picture of him.
The image sees the 45-year-old star removing a balaclava in the first look at his role in Jed Mercurio’s popular drama, after The Sun first revealed he had been cast in July.
The BBC show posted the image on Twitter, saying “Welcome to the club”, and tagging Stephen in the post.
The This Is England and Boardwalk Empire actor retweeted the message, adding: “Thanks for having me!”
The Sun first revealed that Stephen would be replacing Thandie Newton in the show earlier this year.
A show insider said: “It’s a huge coup for Stephen, even as someone with his long CV.

“Not only is Line of Duty one of the hottest dramas on TV but he’s also following in the footsteps of a long line of high-profile signings, including Keeley Hawes and Daniel Mays.
“Producers are also thrilled to have him on board and have a very exciting story lined-up.
“Just as he did in Little Boy Blue recently, he’s sure to have viewers glued to their edge of their seats.”
Mercurio’s twisting drama is set to air early in 2019, with stars Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston all returning.
